Hotfix #1 – 21st February 2024 – Public Notes​

Addressed intermittent crash when driving over a rumble strip
Enabled the classic multi-view tool – this can be triggered by pressing “ctrl” + “shift” + “=” to configure multiple monitors
Improved a crash for some users when entering Multiplayer session after a Race Weekend session
Fixed an issue where the overlay initialises too early and causes hang at startup
Fixed an issue where the UI has input lag when in focus for some users
Added protection for invalid characters in controller filers causing errors reading the file
Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel: Enabled constant steering force
Fanatec CSL Elite – Fixed incorrect torque capability

Fixed a bug where selecting Restart Race would result in the player becoming DNF in Race Weekend

Fixing the Event Results DR & SR bug where gain and losses would be doubled on the event causing the Event and Profile to be out of sync
Slowed down the number of requests to Steam for Avatars so the limit is not hit - this may mean a slower update

Hotfix #5 – 5th March 2024 – Public Notes​
Fixed the “teleport” bug for online users that had pressed “esc” on their previous race, resulting in the user being magically transported to their pit-box after the leader crossed the line in the following race and causing a DNF

General Updates​

Fixed a crash when TGM option is enabled, often affecting triple screen users due to the default key combination
Fixed a crash type when joining/leaving a multiplayer server
Fixed dynamic rain drops not rendering on car surface
Changed online race starts so that cars can no longer move on the grid
Added additional logging for some issues, including loading getting stuck at 48% and joining servers to help us diagnose potential fixes
LMDh cars now correctly switch to EV mode at the start of a pit stop
Removed foreign characters from controller names that caused errors reading the file
Removed the possibility of getting in an enteral loop of practice results in single-player
Adjusted default Post Effects setting to Low to improve performance across a wider variety of hardware
Weather settings now save and load correctly
Player is no longer able to use more tyres then they have available
Fixed low starting virtual energy causing pit stops to be requested when they shouldn’t be
Fixed an issue causing Head Physics to be locked to a maximum of 10%
Increased rate of windscreen cleaning at pit stops
Increased strength of terrain ambient occlusion, for occluded areas in overcast lighting.
Fixed some issues where shadows would not work correctly on TV cameras. Minor improvements to shadows in general.

UI​
Moved Tyre Manager and Setup menu option to the top navigation bar in race events for easier user access
Car wireframes have been removed and replaced with a top-down view of the car you are driving
Added virtual fuel and fuel capacity to setup screen
Fixed some areas of the game not translating to localised languages

AI​
AI will now be placed on the grid in class order on events with no qualifying
AI now use proper race strategy in race only SP sessions
Improved AI tyre compound prediction at start of race

Online​
Users are now prevented from driving off during pre-race countdown
Added an error notification for registering for an event when it’s full after we have started servers - please register at least 6 minutes before a session to be guaranteed a space
Those who have not validated their email will now receive a message to do so when trying to go online
There is now a countdown to the race start in monitor
Also removed the scary retire message if you are on grid
Fixed an issue of previously registered drivers showing up in other event pages
Fixed sometimes being sent to the wrong event when leaving a practice server
On race monitor screen you can now see the info for all sessions on the left
Event cards no longer appear blank on first launch
Updates to the online profile should now sync across multiple machines
Fixed some track maps being inverted on event cards
Time remaining in a race now updates live when time scaled are events are run online
Safety car has been removed from being displayed as an available car on the event ticker

General and Code Updates​
Integrate crash reporting software to automatically collect crash reports
Fix crashes when no sound devices is available
Fixed an issue that would cause cars to collide if one of them teleported close to the other in an online session - disabled collision for teleporting cars if they end up in other cars
Fix for FFB oscillating during game freezes or change state
Fixed a bug to ensure the game is running at normal speed when exiting the pause menu
Quality of life changes for virtual fuel information display in the MFD and speedometer overlays (See UI for more details)
Fixed issues around fuel estimates at the start of a fast rolling race
Various fixes to AI fuel consumption
Fixed virtual energy usage - MGU deployment and higher gears will no longer drain energy faster
Fix for virtual fuel reporting as 100x the actual value when measured in KW in the pit menu.

AI​
Improved AI ability to avoid other cars by both braking and turn in
AI are more careful in unclear situations (slow, unpredictable cars ahead)
Fixed an error in strategy causing fuel logging to fail along with wrong conditions being used for strategy calculations. This fixes various situations in which AI would behave incorrectly.
Improved AI full grid turn 1 situations - less contact, cars no longer occasionally come to a full stop
AI can predict better whether it is safe to lift before corners in order to carry more momentum for lapping another car on exit
AI can now pick closing gaps on flat out sections of the circuit and predicts whether the car ahead leaves space or not - should help in not-quite-straight situations that otherwise never have enough space in one go to overtake around a specific side
Lapped cars no longer immediately attempt to re-overtake when they get the chance
Much less aggressive overtaking attempts, so AI don't get out of shape as much anymore
AI no longer brake at the last possible moment when there is a car ahead, instead in situations that require it they'll be more careful
AI now try to carry a little bit more speed into braking zones when overtaking and lapping
Improved lift and brake logic to avoid getting too close to other cars
AI tyre wear is now hidden from player on HUD

UI​
Boot sequence and registration
Video is now skippable
First time user difficulty select now better matches in-game settings
Email validation is now less strict allowing “+” and other similar valid email characters
Temporarily removed names being registered with symbols as it was causing backend issues. This will be returned when we have made the required changed

Race weekend
Any session length can now be set
Updated available class UI to be more clear
Changing grid position option now loops from max to low again.
Virtual Energy and Fuel
  • Garage
    Fuel capacity changed to fuel ratio
    Fuel carried shows the amount of fuel you will have when leaving the pit

  • HUD
    Virtual energy shows the number of laps you will have with it
    Replaced Fuel Capacity with Fuel Ratio for Hypercars
    The strategy section now shows the amount of fuel you will have after the next pit stop
    Speedo shows Fuel and NRG more clearly
    Updated fuel and energy usage on HUD to show to two decimal points.
    Removed option for relative refuelling and added fuel units (l or gal) to Pit Menu

    “Special Event” cards show correct countdowns
    Added a notification for when your race results are ready

    New Features​
    Replays​

    Replay controls are now available in three sections of Le Mans Ultimate. You can access them during a race through the watch option on the monitor screens, by using the instant replay keybind (default “r”) while on the track in Race Weekend, and by loading into past sessions via the main menu.

    Driver Labels​
    Driver Labels have been introduced to displaying a driver's name above the car. This feature offers customisation options in gameplay settings, allowing you to choose when the labels are shown - whether during Single Player, Multi Player, or Always. Additionally, you can easily toggle this feature on and off while on the track simply by pressing the Tab key.

    Radar​
    We have incorporated the highly requested proximity-based Radar into our HUD to offer users insights on possible hazards, blind spots, and challenging corners when navigating the track. This is optional and can be turned on and off in the settings menu.

    Shows on track cars, and cars active in the pit lane
    Only shows cars very close to the user
    Shows yellow when a car is nearby, and red when alongside and close enough to be nearly colliding

    Improved Race Starts​
    Race start procedures have been reworked and improved to provide a clearer experience for our users. This includes a few new UI elements to help ensure the driver is in the correct location on the track and following the rules of the formation lap.

    New HUD elements for instructions during formation laps
    Improved penalty management:
    Drive Through penalties for poor behaviour, however allows users to get back into position in the case of minor incidents
    Disqualification for extremely poor behaviour
    Disqualification for leaving the pits before red lights when not taking the start. This is due to the potential to make extreme amounts of time up.
    Improved management of drivers not taking the start online.
    Improved management of cars being slow or crashed, and allowing the field to pass them with out penalisation.
    Management of crashed or exceptionally slow cars, and being allowed to pass them.
    Disabled damage before the race starts
    Green lights show on screen in the HUD
    Audio prompts for going to the grid, and when the green flag is shown
    Coach Dave Academy Setups​
    We have now partnered with Coach Dave to help expand the setup options available for free to our users for Hypercars with more due in future.

    Netcode​
    We have been diligently working on substantial refactoring of our Netcode. Although this may not be immediately noticeable to our users, it will lay a more robust groundwork for our development team to incorporate upcoming features and fixes.

    Added the ability to “Fill Grid”, this will run with a higher number of entries in classes with the most unique cars possible.
    Hypercar class will run with 2023 Le Mans grid, + unique hyper cars from 2024 (BMW, 12 Porsche, 83 Ferrari)
    LMP2 & GTE classes will load 2023 Le Mans grid with this setting
    Game will balance enabled classes evenly for the size of the track
    Improvements to car select screen
    Added the ability to select cars by year
    Condensed car select icons to only show for the current car
    Added Thrustmaster LCD Support
    Added a time out on opening mas files, so that if they become corrupted, the game does not stay forever stalled

    Gameplay​
    Disabled blue flag penalisation by default
    Added ability to adjust what position cars are on track to enable blue flag at pit exit. This ensures the light is accurate at Spa pit exit, and also the user can not drive until the field has passed.
    Fix for timing to work correctly on first lap out of the pits when paddock is not near the start finish line
    Fixed issues with fixed setups not applying correctly online
    Fixed an issue where a player’s car would not rotate in the pit box if there was another immediately behind
    Disabled automatic fuel suggestion after pitting which would result in Hypercars having their fuel ratio incorrectly changed
    Adjusted grids on fast rolling starts so they are more spread out
    Scaled down the strength of steering help so that what was previously low, is now high.

    Graphics / Visuals​
    Onboard cameras will now show interior correctly of cars, so you can see mirrors and the wheel display
    Fixed mirrors being white at night when disabled
    Fix for path based cameras jumping around on switching to them first frame
    Fix for a car joining the server changing your view when looking behind
    Fixed issues swapping from borderless to windowed.

    Car Updates June 2024​
    Hypercars​

    Rebuilt tyres using latest updates. This improves the accuracy of the carcass stiffness as the tyre heat is generated. Also includes a better way to simulate (incorporate masses) from the inner liner. Tyre warmup has also been very slightly increased as part of the changes.

    Implemented new code feature which allows contact pressure sensitivity to be altered at different sliding speeds and temperatures. The result is the tyre produces better feedback. The tyre also ‘grips up’ with a different characteristic particularly as the tyres warm.

    Oreca LMP2​
    Updated tyres using the latest updates. This improves the accuracy of the tyre’s carcass stiffness as heat is generated. Also includes a better way to simulate from the inner liner (by incorporating masses). Built to a higher level of detail to be more in-line with hypercar tyres meaning stiffnesses and contact patch profiles are more accurate. The tyre has a tighter overall 'lateral / longitundinal' spring rate due to a small change in construction, which helps reduce the optimum slip angle to be more accurate.

    We have also activated the feature already present in hypercar tyres that ensure the slip curve has more realistic drop-off beyond the peak.

    Finally, we implemented a new code feature which allows contact pressure sensitivity to be altered at different sliding speeds and temperatures. The result is the tyre produces better feedback. The tyre also ‘grips up’ with a different characteristic particularly as the tyres warm.

    GTE
    Applied latest tyre model slip curve developments which were previously only on Hypercars, ensuring a more accurate drop-off beyond the peak slip angle. Additionally low temperature tyre performance has been slightly reduced, ensuring more caution must be taken on cold tyres.

    Finally, we implemented a new code feature which allows contact pressure sensitivity to be altered at different sliding speeds and temperatures. The result is the tyre produces better feedback. The tyre also ‘grips up’ with a different characteristic particularly as the tyres warm.
