Многие иностранные сайты прочили второму rFactor-y появление на свет ещё в 2010 году. Однако этого, как все мы знаем, не случилось. И даже в первой половине 2011 года ожидаемый миллионами симрейсеров автосимулятор так и не вышел. Более того, мы до сих пор даже не знаем точной даты релиза rFactor 2. О чём это говорит? Во-первых, о том, что разработчики не хотят пускать в продажу сырой продукт. И это даёт повод для надежд, что мы не увидем такого количества багов, как в первой версии F1 2010 от Codemasters. Во-вторых, это значит, что такая компания, как ISI, всё же не имеет большого бюджета и такого количества сотрудников, как мировые гиганты игровой индустрии, что, непременно, скажется на качестве игры, чего бы по этому поводу не говорили. В-третьих, такая затяжка релиза и даже объявления какой-либо точной информации о дате выхода игры говорит о том, что разработчики не надеются сорвать большой куш с продаж rFactor 2, они не играют на публику (по крайней мере сильно), они нацелены на определённую, небольшую категорию игроков, которые и безо всякой рекламы пойдут в магазин и отдадут свои деньги за их продукт. Следовательно, игра не должна получится "попсовой". В-четвёртых, достаточно длительная разработка автосима неизбежно приведёт к тому, что на момент релиза в технологическом плане игра будет отнюдь не на передовой. И это печально, хотя вполне предсказуемо.

На данный момент на официальном сайте rfactor-a насчёт даты релиза можно найти только невзрачное пояснение в скобках: "TBA 2011", что означает "to be announced 2011" - игра будет анонсирована в 2011 году. Заметьте, лишь анонсирована, не факт, что выпущена в продажу. Хотя, я думаю, что перенос релиза на 2012 год окончательно подорвёт и без того небольшую категорию потенциальных покупателей данного автосимулятора, чего не могут не понимать и разработчики игры. Следовательно, всё же ждём, надеемся и верим в год текущий...

Reviewed Glare Settings to reduce excessive brightness in day, and improve headlights at night.
Some small adjustments to Lighting Parameters, to bring warmer hues to the scene.

Updated Safety Car added to Retail and ModDev. Old Safety Car removed.
Added a visual driving line feature, this can be toggled from settings.
Removed texture cache to simplify loading.
Added an option to set the amount of water on roads at the start of a session.
Increased the rate of RealRoad calculations by approximately x4.
Added a server option to disable faster real road calculations, as this adds approximately an extra 4KBps per client to server overheads.
Improved real road update rates. They’re now separate per real road property, with wet road having a higher update rate.
Minor update to default weather conditions for different profiles (Rainy/Overcast/Sunny etc).
New algorithm for wet road calculations effecting how quickly surfaces get wet and dry, taking into account drainage, humidity, ambient temperature and sky weather conditions.
Updated tyre grip calculations on rubbered in areas when surfaces are wet.
Updated how road and rain conditions are reported. Old percentage values now snap to a set percent for each tyre of condition, masking the true absolute condition in the game. The Default HUD has been updated to show a text description.
Corrected Rear Flap System default wet weather disable point to work with new weather ranges.
Fixed an issue where Cameras constrained to specific paths would not work correctly in replays.
Extended Freelook mode to allow control via joypads as well as adjustments of exposure, aperture, sensor size and focus.

Graphics
Added spark effects.
Decreased interval of Static Mapper updates from 5 minutes to 10 seconds. This should result in smoother lighting changes at dawn / dusk and as weather conditions change.
Corrected Sky Colour to remove Cyan effect.
Slight adjustments to exposure for sky colour adjustments when sun at it’s highest.
Minor Atmospheric Corrections, including linking AirMass to AirPollution.
Reducing fog brightness slightly.
Reduced Exposure a touch when the sun is around 10 degrees of altitude.
Improved cloud selection at different weather settings.
Minor cloud texture improvements.
Fixed an issue where Clouds would disappear at really high altitudes.
Fixed issues with lighting interpolation in sky rendering at Dusk/Sunrise, which would result in jumps in lighting values.

Physics
Implemented enhanced cooling system for oil & water. This includes new parameters in the .hdv file. The new model includes:
Direct heat transfer between water and oil.
Oil radiator.
Switchover Thermostat.
Separated front and rear brake ducts.
Added configurable gear shift protection.

AI
Added AI Dry Tyre strategy (Random Dry Tyre in Practice, Softs in Qualifying and try to pick an appropriate tyre for race strategy in race).
AI now check if to change Tyre Type just before the pit road entry rather than at the start of the lap.
Fixed various issues around AI Tyre Selection when session changes and weather changes – such as not switching to wet tyres when it was dry before but now is wet.
Fixed an issue with calculating road conditions when changing session where they would not fully compute.
Fixed an issue where cars that don’t allow pit stop refuelling would run a full tank in practice and qualifying.
Prevent AI from leaving pits in closed session.
Fixed an issue where if there was a set of valid wet tyres, intermediate tyres would default to dry tyres.

The Update

General

Updated Track Limits System taking into account many factors to award warning points for infringements with drivers given a short amount of time post cut to give up any gained time or positions in race.
Ability to set Track Limits to None/Default/Strict
Ability to configure number of Track Limit Points before a Drive Through during race sessions.
Improved calculation of infringement during time off track, taking into account, time gained, distance travelled, throttle application, time off track, speed differentials, positions gained during race, wall riding and more.
During all sessions invalidate current lap and sometimes next lap, based on how close to the end of the lap and the size of the infringement.
During race sessions earn warning points, if 3 points are acquired in one go or you pass the cumulative point limit threshold (5 by default) a drive through is given. The size of penalty increases for extreme cuts.
Pit Lane Exit violations are now logged and penalized accordingly (May require content updates)
Disabled Pit Exit violations by default on Ovals in none race sessions and added ability to customize which sessions have Pit Exit limits enforced via GDB or RFM.
Wrong Way Driving calculations have been tweaked to be more lenient when far from the track.
Strict mode intended for eSports, has harsher thresholds and invalidates all off track laps in non race sessions.
Improved logging options and ModDev options for analysing cuts.
Support for up to 16 input devices
Added chat message indicating when there are latency issues and collision is turned off.

Added current Track Limits points to Penalties MFD Page in Race Sessions.

На эти температурные изменения могут влиять такие факторы, как географическое положение, облачность, время суток, температура окружающей среды.
Для водителя это означает, что каждая трасса будет предлагать разные уровни сцепления и вызывать разный износ шин в зависимости от факторов, указанных выше.

Headlights
Added Headlight Pulse. Defaults to J key. On activation headlights will pulse 4 times for a second. Previous headlight state is retained and this will not cause issues with headlight requirements.
Set Auto Headlights to turn on at night even if not required.
Fixed an issue with Headlight assignment not being kept after a driver swap.
Fixed Max Headlights PLR value not being respected
Updated Headlights to be culled based on the position of selected vehicle. Note in Freelook mode to make sure you have selected the vehicle you are focusing on if you are having issues with the headlights not being rendered.

Graphics
Improved in Game Exposure in VR
Fixed omni lights being falsely applied to objects with Omni not enabled
Added ability to set an emissive map on the Terrain shader. Intended for baking distant lighting into terrain.
Fixed delta not resetting correctly after a driver swap
Fix crash when trying to display the game in borderless on a third monitor with a different solution than the first.
Fix using the resolution of the first screen when displaying on any other using borderless.
Fixed a crash when changing monitor when in fullscreen.
Fixed changing resolutions in windowed mode.

Known issues
Skip updates button on package install is unresponsive
Going off track and returning on track with a return pass message visible will reset the counter to 5 seconds
There are some issues around track limits violations being converted into time penalties if you finish the race before the violation is evaluated.
Transmission sounds don’t play correctly
Setup list doesn’t work correctly in mod dev

Привет, гонщики, и добро пожаловать в лучший день месяца — день выпуска первого Q1 2023 года! Прекрасное время, чтобы стать поклонником rFactor 2, здесь мы можем насладиться плодами труда команды, культовой новой трассой, чудовищным автомобилем BTCC, и что самое главное, множеством улучшений, исправлений и дополнений.

Соревнуйтесь с контентом, которым вы не владеете!
Чтобы эта новая функция работала, игрокам необходимо будет загрузить контент на свой ПК, помните, что вы не сможете управлять автомобилями, если не приобретете их через магазин rFactor 2 (доступный либо через пользовательский интерфейс rF2 или в Steam). Самый простой способ узнать, что у вас есть, — это просмотреть список автомобилей и трасс в игре. Те предметы, которыми вы не владеете, будут выделены серым цветом, а кнопка, доступная для нажатия, приведет вас прямо на страницу магазина для этого предмета. Загружаемые элементы можно просмотреть и использовать в разделе управления контентом пользовательского интерфейса.

Зритель.
Пока у вас установлен контент, вы можете наблюдать за гонкой, даже если вы не владеете каким-либо используемым контентом.
Вождение.
Вы можете управлять только автомобилями, которыми владеете, и не можете пересаживаться на чужой автомобиль. Машины, против которых вы участвуете в гонках (ИИ или многопользовательская игра), должны быть установлены, но вам не обязательно владеть ими. Вы должны владеть трассой, на которой участвуете в гонках.
Симуляция покажет вам, какие машины у вас отсутствуют после присоединения к серверу, они будут выделены серым цветом.

Менеджеры серверов. Сгенерируйте ключи сервера, как обычно, чтобы вы могли загружать ненужный контент на сервер.

Allow the previous laps S/F line camera to remain valid when using cycle method. This allows for different cameras over the start finish line.
Reduced strength of shake effect on cameras with this enabled.

Improved ttool perfomance significantly. It’s now more than twice as fast. The checksum will differ, but results are the virtually the same.

Known issues
Cancel updates button is unresponsive
Driver labels are sometimes out of position on screen or sort incorrectly with certain transparent objects
Motion blur is disabled for cockpit cameras
Booting in offline mode can cause premium content to display as pending uninstall in the content management screen, returning to online mode restores the correct display
It is not possible to take a pit stop when pitlanes without a boundary do not have a clear break in the cut corridors between the pitlane and the main track.

Fixed game crashes caused by corrupt shader compiles
Fixed freeze on startup when offline with auto updates enabled
Fixed game locking up after changing resolution
Fixed a rare crash when an object has texture shadows casting but no textures assigned to the material
Adjusted the way Trackside TV displays enable/disable to stop crashes for some users.
Fixed game resetting to lowest resolution instead of desktop resolution when there is invalid data in the config file.
Fixed Track Limits not giving time to return place when passing another car after returning to track when gaining time.
Disabled depth buffering on driver labels to fix clipping issues

Physics
Fixed energy consumption and power output mismatch on electric cars.
Added check on temporary boost to not over-ride P2P

Fixed AI not shifting properly when using the old engine format
Fixed AI behaviour during Full Course Yellow including:
Fixed AI randomly slowing down
Fixed AI order during FCY if cars exit the pits before the leader crosses the line
General FCY track order fixes
During FCY, AI now follow the correct line
Fixed AI minimum speed during FCY, so they won’t come to a full stop even if the car they should be following is behind
Fixed some situations in which AI would force themselves to drive too fast during safety car conditions, causing them to overtake
Fixed AI sometimes slamming the brakes when crossing the line for the first time during FCY
Fixed small AI throttle spikes during formation laps and FCY
Fixes for AI behaviour on formation laps including:
Fixed formation lap speeds so AI can catch up properly
Fixed formation laps getting messed up on some circuits
Fixed AI attempting to shift in reverse when standing on the grid waiting for the car ahead to go if formation is done by position rather than relative
Improved AI obstacle avoidance including:
AI no longer rejoin onto the racing line infront of other cars, especially if they are spun on track
Improved AI ability to avoid obstacles on track
Reintroduced emergency obstacle avoidance for very unexpected obstacles
Fixed some issues with AI mispredicting movement of other cars, causing them to collide
Fixed AI not giving up position when they get pushed off the road
Fixed a small issue causing minor AI pedal input oscillations
Fixed a bug in AI acceleration and brake prediction, causing them to be either overly aggressive or overly cautious in corners
Fixed issues where cars would struggle to line up on the grid or enter their pit boxes on certain tracks
Fixed a crash in AIW creation
AI will no longer attempt to aggressively overtake around the outside
Nighttime will no longer cause AI to drive very slow

Привет, сим-гонщики! Как вы все знаете, в течение прошлого года мы последовательно выпускали автомобили чемпионата British Touring Car Championship, и сейчас мы завершаем полный список автомобилей 2023 года, добавляя Team HARD Cupra Leon для rFactor 2.
В состав команды Team HARD входят 6 фантастических гонщиков; Dexter Patterson, Bobby Thompson, Jack Butel, Dan Lloyd, Nicolas Hamilton, и Jade Edwards. Мы невероятно рады представить все 6 их ливрей 2023 года.
Наряду с добавлением Cupra Leon мы также добавили в rFactor 2 все официальные ливреи Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship 2023 года.

Fixed cars rolling over
Introduced behaviour to deal with understeer and oversteer
Fixed various issues related to AI limits:
AI no longer ignore walls to attempt an overtake
AI won’t deliberately leave the track anymore to overtake
AI only leave the track if they get pushed off, rather than going into the grass to keep their safety distance to other cars

Fixed AI attempting to overtake when the laws of physics would not allow them to leave their line without crashing
Fixed an issue where cars would refuse to pit because other cars already requested a pit stop, causing them to run out of fuel in Qualifying
Fixed AI randomly starting to shake and getting confused when overtaking another car, falling back or crashing
Fixed cars running off the racing line and sometimes even into walls for a few seconds after spinning
Fixed AI sometimes not braking enough for their pit boxes
Added a warning to moddev when pit boxes don’t have waypoints, making them inaccessible to AI
AI no longer move off the racing line into the middle of the track when shown blue flags, which caused traffic jams
In addition to the previous fix, AI no longer lift off in corners when shown the blue flag - They will not fight back and stay predictable, following multiclass rules
AI no longer incorrectly interpret player car’s deceleration and change of direction as acceleration - This fixes AI cars rear ending the player
Various fixes and improvements for AI pedal inputs, including improved draft behaviour
Fixed waypoint lapdist inaccuracies completely disabling AI braking, causing cars to run flat out into walls especially in or near the pits
Fixed various issues with obstacle evasion, improving AI behaviour around cars out of control. Known issue: AI still occasionally fail to move off the racing line if they encounter an obstacle on the racing line mid-corner
Added emergency state for AI allowing them to overdrive the car if necessary to avoid hitting walls or obstacles
Improved safety car physics in wet conditions
Fixed AI moving off their lines instantly, causing them to spin frequently if other cars are around - This fixes their behaviour to change lines just enough to get to where they need to be as efficiently as possible
Fixed “Finish Session” and “Next Session” to actually finish the session, simulating the rest of it. When the player chooses to skip Qualifying, this will still ensure a reasonable starting grid
