Компания Sector3 выпустила глобальное обновление для RaceRoom Racing Experience, в котором разработчики улучшели графику, звук, физику и AI. Также выпустили дополнительный контент DTM 2016 года и Audi TT Cup 2016. Оба контента доступны в Магазине RaceRoom.

RaceRoom November 15 Update Changelog:

Game:
Added new content for upcoming releases and competitions.
Unified Experiences and moved some of the experience specific settings to R3E.
Added “Depth of Field” visual effect. Active in TV cameras, Hood camera, Action cameras and Free Camera. CTRL-M enables a simple UI to adjust the blurring effects and focus position.
Shared Memory API overhaul, added various additional data and potential for backward compatibility starting this patch.
Added support for SimXperience Accuforce steering wheel.
Extended freedom of movement for the freecam and added two modes for it: “Attached to the car position and its rotation” and “Attached to the car position only”. Pressing the key bound to free cam will cycle through the three modes.
When under a slow-down penalty, collisions with the car are disabled.
When under a slow-down penalty, the amount of speed the player is still allowed to carry has been increased, but keep in mind you will be giving back any time gained at a slower rate by driving faster.
Fixed an issue where the ghost car was producing audio while waiting for the player’s car at the S/F line.
Fixed so compact data display shows fuel in gallons if mph/imperial units are selected.
Fixed replays missing the first 60 seconds of a race by pausing replay recording during garage phase.
Re-enabled hud during garage phase while waiting on the grid.
Changed position bar so it doesn’t display information during garage phase.
Fixed the issue where you would get disqualified immediately after the lights in hillclimb tracks.
Fixed using arrow keys for increase/decrease in pit menu going through settings very fast.
Fixed a crash that was occurring when leaving a Hillclimb session after finishing a run.
Fixed rear lights flashing when pressing the headlights button
Ensured that certain reset commands are sent to DirectInput devices when effects are disabled.
Changed “off” steerForceVibe period to be 2000000.
Increased maximum execution time for all communications from 30 seconds to a minute or higher.
Disabled FFB when reaching the spring based lock if it’s active.
Cleaned up the ffb code a bit while fixing the above issue. Removed mimic code and made sure all ffb effects are turned off during AI control.
Fixed game crashing while navigating in the portal while in a competition session.
Fixed an issue with damage when downshifting without clutch.
Disabled foreground window lock when playing fullscreen.
Disabled game minimizing when losing focus.
Fixed game crashing/freezing when pressing pit request button while no audio device is connected.
Changed throttle pedal zero magnitude and vibe slope default values to 0.

Multiplayer:
Added 2 race format and reversed grids.
The net code is now IPv6 compatible.
Removed some unused functions from net code that were somehow triggering crashes for some players.
Potentially fixed an issue where cars not within Peer to Peer range would become invisible.
We now allow duplicate server names to avoid admins not being able to access their settings if a condition such as their IP changes. (Also means we no longer have to remove their names from the associated server list manually).
Added so the associated server list clears names that have been inactive for 30 days.
Removed the grid walk camera phase since it’s irrelevant with the introduction of garage phase.
Fixed issue with xinput controllers ending up in an unusable state after disconnect/reconnect/usb port switch etc.
Fixed issue with opponent cars briefly disappearing during starting light phase.

Sounds, Cameras, Physics, AI:
Significant AI logic improvements.
Added punctures to the tire model. Past the lowest possible wear value, tires have a chance to puncture.
It is now impossible to disable auto-clutch aid on sequential gearbox’d cars
DRS effects on the aerodynamics of the car have been reworked
DRS allowance is now 3 activations per lap with a gap detection of 1 second at the S/F line.
Push 2 Pass is now disabled in qualifying and competitions to comply with the changes made in 2016 to the Audi Sport TT Cup official rules and regulations.
Downshifting without clutch on a H-Pattern gearbox now properly damages the gearbox.

BMW M1 Procar : Better standing starts for AI, made AI less easily roll up on curbs.
DTM : DRS adjustment to previous seasons so they also benefit from DRS aerodynamics improvements.

Компания Sector3 Studios выпустила небольшой патч для RaceRoom. В ноябре 15-го студия выпустила крупное обновление в котором был большой список новых функций и улучшений. К сожалению, после обновления, в игре появились проблемы с долгой загрузкой сервера. Команда разработчиков исправила эту проблему и улучшила оптимизацию.

Dedicated Server:
Added ability to determine the starting position of the race. When a starting grid is defined on the server, qualifying session will be skipped entirely. The server will place players on the grid in the exact order defined by the server administrator and will not perform any sorting by performance index.
Added ability to import users from a given leaderboard and a given team name to pre-populate the starting grid.
Added a chat box in the dedicated server interface to allow the broadcasting of messages to all players from the server admin.
Added a Weight Manager tool to easily manage the administration of success ballast for a large amount of players throughout a league championship. The manager can be pointed at the result of a past race and all players can be assigned weight following any kind of regulation with the help of custom formula's.
Added a latency indicator next to each of the connected players. It shows an average value that is calculated over a full minute.

Adjustments to Slowdown penalties that have been too harsh since the previous update, especially in high speed corners.

Features:
Added a first iteration of daylight progression, from morning to evening. A multiplier is available to set progression from x0 (static sun), up to x25.
Sun position is now astronomically accurate for each of our tracks as per a typical summer solstice day.
Dedicated server - Added possibility to set a "Message of the Day" that all players will be presented with upon joining. The message can be dismissed by pressing the brake, or leaving the pitlane. The message can be formatted using very basic html tags.
Damage overhaul - The old settings separating Visual and Mechanical damage have been merged into just one Damage setting which can have the following values:
- Off (cars will not take any damage)
- Limited (this is equivalent to having both mechanical and visual damage enabled before today's update)
- Full (Suspension can get damaged, and tyres can have flat spots after lock-ups)
Damage model - New deformations and systems for detachables parts, cracks in windshields, etc.
Damage model - Tyres can now get punctured from collisions or from driving off track, and the probabilities of getting a puncture increase with the wear.
Car Setup Menu - One of our goals is to modernize the user interface and the first menu that we decided to tackle is the car setup. It is reflecting the future look and feel of the RaceRoom interface as we head into 2020.
It is divided in three areas, the left will display some telemetry data from your last laps, the center has all the possible changes sorted into tabs, and the right side is dedicated to display helper texts and the steering settings.
Force Feedback - Added Pneumatic Trail to the physics engine, which results in self-centering forces on corner exits.
Force Feedback - Added Stationary Friction effects
Global AI behavioral improvements, with car specific tweaks using a self-learning algorithm.
Sounds - Improvements to tyre sounds (skid and scrub).
Added an option to display opponents of other classes in the HUD position bar
Added an option to force the HUD track map to remain static and not rotate with the player's car orientation
Added an option to show or hide the chat messages in Multiplayer
Added extra bindigs for Shift Up and Shift Down, allowing to mix paddles and a sequential shifter

RaceRoom Racing Experience Update Notes
Dedicated server now offers the possibility to set an incident point limit. Any player going above that defined amount will get instantly disqualified.
Dedicated server manager page now shows the points accumulated by each player in real time, rather than the amount of incident events involving that player.
Reputation - Improved detection of Non Starter participants on long tracks such as the Nordschleife.
Reputation - Car to car collisions are now worth 4 points. Losing Control of the vehicle is now worth 2 points.
Flat Spots - Reduced further tyre wear on flat spots, which makes them vanish quicker with tyre wear.
Flat Spots - Fixed some bad performance when locking a tyre on a flat spot while in gravel or grass.
Suspension damage - Fixed some cases where a car with suspension damage could sometimes be seen shot into the air.
Car Setup - Fixed Setup rules are now properly affecting the car setup menu.
Car Setup - Changed so 4WD cars differential changes affect the rear differential instead of the front.
Fixed shift sounds playing twice in replays.
Fixed an issue where HUD elements would show in replays if the client was started with -broadcastUrl=http://**

Fixed a case where entering the pitlane could sometimes result in the lap being invalidated
Fixed rolling start qualifying where the car, under AI control, would try and dodge other players around the spawn location, even though they're invisible.

Fixed smoke not rendering from Aerial TV cameras.
Fixed an old Helpdesk URL that the client was attempting to load after throwing an error. It's now changed to point to the Sector3 Studios forums.

Announcement:
In this update, we had to heavily modify the looks of some fantasy liveries that had Red Bull sponsoring since their original release. The Red Bull brand guidelines now enforce the brand to only be used as replica's of existing cars and liveries, never on fantasy cars. As some of the liveries were sold, we will be looking into refunding the 29 vRP's to your in-game wallets in the coming days.

Reputation – Incident points cooldown has been increased from 3 seconds to 4 seconds to limit escalation after being pushed out of the track.
Reputation – The player now receives one incident point for invalidating a lap.
Reputation – Just after a 4 seconds cooldown, we are now ignoring further incidents for track object collisions, going off-track and losing control until the car has rejoined the track.
Option – The headrests of the cockpit seat were reportedly annoying for VR users as the camera was clipping through, so we added an option to toggle the rendering of the driver seat.
Controllers – Added a profile for the Xbox gamepad when connected through Bluetooth.

Fixed Car Setup menu that wasn’t hiding the differential settings for cars that do not allow changing them.

Fixed puffs of smoke and brake marks left by players with high latency
Fixed blinking of high latency opponent cars in multiplayer. It will now only cease to render the car if the opponent’s latency is consistently above 1 second.
Fixed AI control in the pitlane that could sometimes accelerate the car above the pitlane speed limit.
Fixed free-flight camera that wouldn’t work under certain conditions in the race monitor.

Smoothed rev limiter and pit speed limiters logics for a selection of cars that were problematic.

Fixed a bug where a multiplayer server in a closed qualifying session would still be displayed as “joinable” in the multiplayer list.
Fixed a bug where gearshift backfires would not make sounds in replays. Improved logic of the sound triggers in both replays and multiplayer.
Fixed a case where AI could be caught not shifting up when it thought it had too low grip on the powered wheels.
Fixed a bug where pitstop sounds wouldn't work in replays.
Fixed an issue where the ideal raceline would feature oddly positioned brake warnings.
Fixed an issue where watching an instant replay that featured a pitstop would result in receiving fresh tyres a second time after coming back to gameplay.
Fixed an issue with some in-game web links that would wrongly open in a Steam overlay whenever -webdev startup argument was being used.
Tweak to AI's understanding of gravity and forces to improve their behavior on slopes and banked corners.
Further tweaks hoping to catch some remaining timing discrepancies when spectating MP races
Backed out an older fix for driver names being offset above opponent cars when playing with a low FOV as it had introduced an arguably more annoying intense vibration of the driver names when close to player. Let’s live with an offset for now while we wait for a better fix.

Content updates:

All cars - Adjustments to behavior of the tyres once they've been covered in dirt, grass, gravel. As a consequence of those changes, the sounds for pebbles hitting the car are going to feel a bit fainter.
All cars - Modifications to upshifts and downshifts engine revs. Gearshifts are now more brutal™. Older cars from 70’s / 80’s / 90’s also received specific upshift backfires.
All cars - New transmission whine recordings for most cars, especially modern GT, prototypes and touring cars. The transmission volume ramp is also altered, it’s now louder while coasting and the pitch is in exact sync with the drivetrain.
All cars - New skid and locked brake tyre sounds that provide a more realistic sound during long slides. Also decreased tyre volumes for all modern GT cars.
All cars - Updates to behaviour of both the rev and pit limiters.
All cars - Modifications to forces involved in car to car collisions, to get rid of some collisions sometimes feeling like the other car is a solid brick.
Aquila - Adjusted tyre pressures in baseline setup, reduced brake power
Audi R18 - Fixed steering wheel not being exactly positioned on the steering column, which resulted in the cockpit camera placement being centered the wheel and therefore too far to the right.
Audi TT RS VLN - Longer default final drive for Zandvoort
CUPRA TCR - Fixed baseline setup that had an asymmetrical damper setting
DTM 14/15/16 - Fixed excessive suspension damage over curbs. Improved curb and bump behaviour with updated high speed dampers. Modified clutch and engine inertia values to stop them from bouncing off limiter upon downshifts. Differential updates to proper locks. Slight BOP adjustment of +5 Kg on the Mercedes.
Formula RaceRoom 2 - Updated baseline setup and tweaks to tyres for better handling. AI improvements.

Known issue

Ningbo main layout has a wrong cut detection in the left turn just before pitlane entry. The only way to record a laptime there right now is by keeping left after the apex. Other Ningbo layouts are not affected. We’re still investigating what’s up with this and will fix as soon™ as possible.

Changelist:
Dedicated server - Added UI elements to API controls for restarting current session and send out penalties to players. These currently have some known issues such as not resetting incident points on a race restart, or skipping the garage phase and restarting straight to the grid.
Dedicated server - Potential fix for some users getting kicked for high latency after a session switch.
Dedicated server - Fixed an issue where a penalty received by a player in the first race session would still be applied in the second race session.
Shared Memory - Added incident points data. Updated minor version to 7. (retrocompatible)
Controllers - Some Thrustmaster wheels were reportedly acting up with flatspot effects after a recent firmware update (30). Default profiles have it turned off as a consequence until resolved.
Physics - Fixed an issue with friction heat calculations where you could see tire temperatures rise unexpectedly at low speeds
Physics - Changed Ignition / Starter logic so that if you have those controls bount to buttons, you now have to press and maintain the Starter button until the engine is fully started.
Sounds - Road noise volume slider range now properly offers 0-100% range
Sounds - Fixed the last occurrences of hearing sudden high revs / hitting limiter from other cars while watching replays or spectating multiplayer races
Gameplay - “Position Bar Relative” setting caused some position bar issue in multiplayer where the same name would be repeated in all the boxes when that option was enabled. As a quick fix, we temporarily disabled this feature and forced it to be disabled.

Audi TT RS VLN - Tuned high-speed damping
BMW 320 Turbo (Gr. 5) - Increased radiator cooling
BMW M1 (Procar & Group 4) - Added onboard cameras (accessible through pressing Home key or through the broadcast overlay controls when spectating a race)
Cougar C14-2 - Fixed a typo that made this car use default damage values instead of specific ones.
DTM 13/14/15/16 - AI behaviour improvements & updates to their fuel predictions. Increased differential locking and drivetrain oscillations to stop rev dropping due to wheel speed differences.
Formula RaceRoom Junior - Tune high-speed damping
Group C - Tuned high-speed damping, increased front view swing arm length and decreased the rear.
GTR1 - AI behaviour improvements
GTR3 - Reduced peak camber angles, reduced tyre heating. Old generation GT3 cars are now more closely BOP’d with the more recent models. Updated AI tyre wear to match player’s better.
GTR4 - Tweaks to brake cooling, tuned dampers, further BOP adjustments and improvements to default car setups.
Porsche 911 Carrera Cup (964) - Improved default car setup and equalised front/rear tyre heating
Porsche 911 RSR 2019 - Improved default car setup and reduced tyre heating. AI behaviour improvements. Softer anti-roll bars, tuned dampers, reduced rear braking power slightly. Increased downshift blipping.
Porsche 934 Turbo RSR - AI behaviour improvements
Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport - Tweaks to brake cooling, tuned dampers, reduced tyre heating and tweaks to tyre camber behaviours (rear tyre now require less)
Touring Classics - Updated tyres, suspension adjustments (softer overall), balance of performance adjustments, and AI behaviour improvements
Tracks - tweaked initial fuel consumption estimates to improve/fix some questionable AI strategic decisions.
Tweaked fuel consumption estimates for various cars. (reminder that once a lap has been completed, the estimates are replaced with actual recorded values)
WTCR - smoothed rev limiters and pit limiters, AI behaviour improvements (calmed them down in fast turns)
Hungaroring - New additions to the real track are now implemented: a new pitbuilding, updated runoff areas, new curbs, pitwall paint, medical building.
